I write features, reviews and comment pieces for publications including The Guardian, The Times Literary Supplement, The New Statesman, The Author, BBC Wildlife, New Humanist, Illustration, New Scientist, Bird Watching, and more.

My crosswords – both cryptic and quiz – appear regularly in New Scientist, History Today, New Humanist, BBC Wildlife, History Revealed and The Blizzard. I’m part of the team that sets questions for BBC Mastermind, and I’m a cartoonist, too: Private Eye, New Humanist and Claims magazines have all featured my work. I’m the author of five non-fiction books.
